SUMMARY OF THE EVENT: Ionospheric disturbances occurred from the evening of the 22nd of June for more than a day. In the evening of the 22nd, ionospheric disturbances were split in two with a TEC increase up to 30 TECu in the Southern part of Europe and a TEC decrease of 15 TECu in the Northern part. During the day of the 23rd, a major decrease up to 20 TECu was observed in the whole European area. This negative ionospheric storm is linked with the solar CME of the 21st of June associated with an ejection of protons and high geomagnetic disturbances.
