SUMMARY OF THE EVENT: Following the M6-class flare of the 28th of July, a coronal mass ejection (CME) was heading toward Earth the 31st of July at 15:00 UTC (source: spaceweather.com). Above Europe, we observed ionospheric disturbances with an increase of TEC the 1st and 2nd of August.

Figure 1 shows the time evolution of the Vertical Total Electron Content (VTEC) (in red) extracted from the near-real time VTEC maps at 3 different latitudes (Figure 2): a) Northern part (top), b) Brussels (middle) and c) Southern part (bottom).
